Personal project #tukovoji
#tukovoji is a social project created in 2017. I developed concepts, visuals, and identity.
This is a social project on mental health, including depression and anxiety, aiming to help people cope with psychological issues; the leading platform of the project is social media.
#tukovoji ("you fight" in Lithuanian) is a social project based in Lithuania. The main goal is to create a platform for depressed, anxious people to speak out and, at the same time, get to know how others cope with their struggles. Stories are sent via Facebook or Instagram and later posted with illustrations. The entire content is in Lithuanian as the project is focused on a local audience, likely aged 18-24.

Since the start of the project, I have published almost 70 stories sent anonymously by people who want to share their difficulties, how they overcame or are still trying to overcome them. To this day, mental health disorders are still a complex topic for people to talk about, which is why I wanted to create a space where people could express themselves without fear of being judged or misunderstood.
All the stories are different, covering a wide range of experiences. I often consulted with mental health professionals to ensure that I could communicate as well as I could, both with the audience and with those who approached me in person. When I received complex stories, I tried to direct people to resources and worked with the "You are not alone!" ("Tu – ne vienas!") project, which provided in-depth expert commentary and advice.
However, stories alone are not enough to keep followers' attention and my place in the algorithm, so I started creating additional content. The project's content consists of three types: stories, articles written by me, and short motivational messages. In this way, I have not only provided variety for the viewer, but also allocated my time according to the workload - writing articles requires more time. At the same time, motivational posts, including searches and idea generation, take significantly less time.
Below is an example of a grid - the visuals with text are motivational, and the articles have more detailed illustrations.
Over the years, as my skills have evolved, so has my visual language. I have always strived for a human touch in the visuals and a soft colour palette, creating an empathetic tone. Here are a few more examples of social media visuals:
