My name is Olga, and I'm a graphic designer from Lithuania. Although graphic design is my primary speciality, I am also interested in painting, psychology, and human rights, which I try to combine, because I believe that all my passions can complement each other, creating harmony between my hobbies and work.
I have loved creative activities since I was a little girl, and in my free time, I experiment with different techniques and innovative directions. I paint with various mediums, try my hand at sculpture, decor, handicrafts, and crocheting, as well as writing. My design studies have instilled a great deal of pragmatism, so many of my leisure activities focus on functional objects. I'm interested in DIY culture and exploring ways to revive old things.
However, I see the value in making art not only as a practical object but also as a therapeutic process. Creating involving the physical body can have healing properties, which I explore in my paintings. Psychology, more specifically human exploration, is one of my foundational interests, which I have maintained to this day, and this is why I have chosen Art Therapy as my Master's field of study. The power of therapy lies not only in relaxation, but also in human expression, which communicates the inner world of each individual through its unique symbolism. I have practised with a variety of people - children with behavioural disorders, adults with disabilities, and volunteers who have come to Lithuania from abroad, thus gaining insight into different ways of approaching people and, at the same time, their unique expressions.
However, the theme of psychology is not only present in my approach to therapy and personal creativity, but also in my design. Since my undergraduate studies, I have been incorporating social and psychological themes into my designs. I have also created the #tukovoji project, which helps people understand their own and others' inner struggles and the various ways to tackle their difficulties.
I have also been a volunteer with the NGO Young Wave since 2022. This is a non-profit organisation that aims to educate people about harm reduction practices and reduce the stigma associated with substance use. My work for this organisation extends beyond design. Although I am the Content Team Leader, I contribute to the organisation by being on duty at events, providing counselling on harm reduction, and offering emotional support.
One of my most significant values is empathy, which I strive to express in everything I do. Whether it's my creative side projects or working on design projects, clear communication is one of the best ways to be heard and understood, which is crucial in a world where it's easy to get lost in information overload.
